Body-for-Life: Week 3

BMI: 31.4
Body Fat: 26.0%
Weight: 101.6kg
Height: 180cm
Blood Pressure: 93/74 mmHg

Those are the stats I’m looking at after 3 weeks of Body-For-Life. It’s a pity I only figured out how to use the testing machines today (the rest of the time I’ve been into the gym it’s been too early in the morning and I’ve been more focused on my workout) and I can’t compare them to when I started. I definitely feel better about myself, knowing that I’m on a good plan of healthy living than a bad one; even if there isn’t much to show for it yet.

I’ve been concerned that I haven’t doing the right weights and that I was kidding myself about my intensity levels and I have to give a big thank you to Craig Nicholson who partnered with me today to help me check that I was pushing as hard as I could (Craig has previously done BFL and has been a source of encouragement while I’m on this course). I’m also going to change my cardio workout to running on the treadmill from cycling since I can now last 20 minutes on the bike.

Hi,

Has BFL worked for you?

Reason I am asking is my wife started it 3 weeks ago and is now getting despondent as she is not seeing the results she wants.

It also seems as though the trainer only has now started to make her do 45 minute work out. Were has previously been doing 20 - 30 minutes.

I know this is personal but I am really only asking for some advise.

Rgds,
Lee

Yes, it did work although unfortunately (and like a all programs) it’s a life long commitment and after a couple of months after I stopped I started putting it all back on.

It can take a couple of weeks longer to start seeing (and importantly feeling) results as it depends how your general fitness and how religiously you stick the program.

The VITAL part is the diet though, initally I was relaxed on what I ate but it makes a HUGE difference when you start eating right, in the right amounts at the right times.

Hi
My name is Johann and also started BFL. I was just wondering, when practising abbs will normal crunches and other exercizes be enourh for that “6pack” or should you add weights on your chest for that. and how do you excercize your abbs(to reach your high point?)

do you also do it starting at 5 and progressing to ten at the end?

regards
Johann
