Xbox Live petition update
I was just handed an article from News24 which not only describes the petition from my previous post but has also managed to get a statement out of Cindy White, Xbox 360 Group Manager for Microsoft South Africa.
“The Xbox team is currently working to an international roll-out plan for Xbox Live. South Africa is included in this roll-out, however we are unable to confirm exact dates for availability and functionality at this stage,”
I hope to see the petition site updated with all the statements coming from Microsoft as it’s been really incredible how quickly Microsoft has latched on and responded to these questions. The Xbox 360 console update (which will be automatically downloaded if your console is connected to the internet) is due sometime this week and so it’s reasonable to imagine the panic by local gamers if they suddenly found they lost their Microsoft Points they’ve paid for and couldn’t play multi-player games any more.
