R10,000 game development competition
I feel really honoured to be part of a community that’s achieving such amazing milestones in terms of what it provides for its members and how it reaches out to new markets. The Game.Dev community has managed to get MindSet to sponsor R10,000 rand in prizes for their next game development competition; that’s R5000 for first place!
I don’t think there can be a more motivating gesture than cold, hard cash; and this isn’t the first time that the community has given away such tempting prizes.
If you think you don’t stand a chance, there is a New Entrant category for first-timers and don’t forget that Game.Dev is one of the few game development communities that actively promotes the use of tools like GameMaker and provides support on their forums for it. I’ve done countless demos for friends and co-workers and even been asked to present at a Unisa workshop; and GameMaker never failed to impress and astound at how simple it is to create graphically pleasing and interactive games.
