About Me
My name is André Odendaal and I’m a .NET software developer for Barone, Budge & Dominick in Johannesburg, South Africa. I’ve been passionate about software development since I was about 12 years old and started out by making text-based arcade games in QBasic back in 1992. I went to Bellville Technical High School in Cape Town and studied Mechanical Engineering before moving with my family to Johannesburg where I finished a Technical Diploma in Light Industrial Electronics.
I have 2 major loves; understanding social networks and game development. I have been a leader of SA Developer .NET since February 2004 and I used to run a free DirectX workshop before joining and working with the Game.Dev community. I regularly present talks on new technologies for both communities.
